All the oats start off as oat groats, and Instant Oats are the variety of oats that are processed the most. The oats are first partially cooked (precooked) and then dried for fast preparation, then it is further rolled pressed, making it extremely thin. This makes the oats easier and faster to cook and makes it a perfect on-the-go breakfast which gives the name Instant Oats. It’s a common notion that being more processed, instant oats

looses a lot of their nutrients, which is not entirely accurate. On the contrary, it saves a lot of effort while slashing down the cooking time making it the “go-to healthy breakfast”. However, one should carefully check the packaging of the product to check the ingredients, many instant oat brands have a lot of artificial preservatives and sugar.

Ingredients

·         2 ripe bananas

·         90 gms instant oatmeal

·         35 gms  sunflower seeds

·         20 gms coconut flakes

·         40 gms raisins

·         1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

·         a pinch of salt

 

Instructions

·         Mash the bananas and add all the remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix well. Let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes.

·         Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat an oven to 350°F (170°C).

·         Using a tablespoon, take the mixture into your hands and form cookies. Set on the baking sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
